Adopt a German Shepherd Dog (medium coat)

German Shepherd Dog (medium coat) Dog

Aspen the Dog needs a home

At nine weeks old, Aspen has already seen more homes than most puppies see in their lifetime.  Her first home realized they couldn’t care for her and passed her off to a second.  Fortunately for Aspen, instead of passing her off, her second home reached out to us to help find a home the best home for her.

Aspen is a very very sweet girl who is a bit shy in new situations until she gets to know you.  Understandably, she doesn’t know what it feels like to be completely safe.  The thing she feels most safe with are her canine companions.  So we are looking for a home that has another dog in it, a dog who can help her feel safe and mentor her as she grows.  She is a very confident girl once she is comfortable.   She loves to play with her dog friends and is learning that people can play too.  She has even mastered the art of fetch.  Unlike most puppies, she will actually bring the item that she has fetched back to you.  Aspen is safe now in her foster home, waiting to meet her new doggie brother or sister and her new family.

Puppies are a life-long commitment. They need time, training, vet care and healthy feeding to become good canine citizens. Don't even think of adopting a puppy unless you intend to invest the time and money and commitment required, and you can expect to lose a few good shoes along the way!

Prior to placement, all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are usually microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis. Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.

Our adoption process begins with completing an application on-line. A phone screening will soon follow, and lastly a home visit will be conducted by our volunteers.
